A post-conflict country billed as the rising star of West Africa, Liberia
under the reformist government of president Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has made
great strides in stabilizing the country both politically and economically.
Pre-war Liberia was one of Africa’s great success stories modern
and relatively prosperous. Today, the country is recovering from a war
that destroyed virtually its entire infrastructure. President Sirleaf has
