AFRICA

Although in recent years Africa has been in vogue in international investment circles investors particularly from the United States and Europe are still reluctant to commitment to projects in a continent widely perceived to be politically and economically unstable. It would seem that old stereotypes continue to prevail and admittedly most of the headlines centered on Sudan, Somalia, Kenya, Zimbabwe and Chad continue to perpetuate investor’s negative impressions of Africa.

Yet far removed from the headlines an altogether different story has been and is shaping up in Africa. This is a story is being written by a new generation of African entrepreneurs, politicians, social activists, philanthropists, bureaucrats and ordinary people throughout the continent. The story is one of increasing political stability, increasing economic prosperity, more social stability and the advent of a new investment paradigm in, which a new breed of investors primarily from China and India are in many ways shaping the future of the African continent.

We are still at the very beginning of Africa’s story and the continent represents collectively truly the last emerging market in the world. Despite its new found investment prominence whether in the western financial press or with increasing Chinese and Indian investments, we believe that Africa offers some of the greatest international investment value creation possibilities currently available. Accordingly, we have highlighted five countries, in, which we believe investors should evaluate value creation opportunities.

Djibouti

Ghana

Liberia

Nigeria
